Darwin, not the Sunshine Coast, should be the sunshine capital of Australia, as this place had sunshine all the time. Admittedly I was only there for 4 days, but in that time I experienced the best weather of my whole trip in Oz.

A little of Darwin history for you.... Although being devastated by Japanese bombs during World War II and the wrath of cyclone Tracy on Christmas Day 1974, Darwin has endured and rebuilt itself to become a modern and multicultural city.

My time in Darwin was spent sightseeing and going on a cruise around the harbour. Darwin itself is again like many of Australia's capital cities, being that it is not very big. As a matter of fact, the whole of the Northern Territory has a little over 200,000 people, the majority of which live in Darwin.

I decided in Darwin that instead of going to Perth I would go to Cairns to see Jody and, time withstanding, I would go down to Perth later in the year. The boys were also going to Cairns to finish off their Australian portion of their trip, the only difference being that they were flying and I was going to have to take another coach (doh).

We all left Darwin on May 11th, but understandingly arrived in Cairns at different times. It took the boys just a couple of hours on the plane. Well, it took me 38 hours of non-stop travel on the bus to munch up the 2756km between the 2 cities.
