First Trip cont......

......Well at anyrate, I got back in the car, we swapped driving positions, (yes advisedly, I am now a passenger), and we continued on our way to Byron Bay. We arrived there early morning, found the nearest motel and hit the sack for a few hours.

Refreshed after the nap, we headed into downtown Byron and went straight to the nearest bar, which happened to be the Beach Hotel (owned by noneother than Mr. Crocodile Dundee himself - Paul Hogan). We all had a couple of drinks; I'm drowning my sorrows and the others are just keeping me company.

Rik ends up spending the night in the car, Howard on the beach, and me, well I somehow managed to wrangle a sofa in the trailer of a couple of very nice Canadian girls we had met in a nightclub called "Cocomangas" earlier on that night. These girls, Jody and Andrea, shared a trailer in a Caravan park just outside of Byron with a couple of English guys, Nigel and Al.

Up early the next day, I went off to find the others. Once I had successfully located them, we headed on to Fraser Island for the final leg of our trip.
